Eastern Pine Snake (Pituophis m. melanoleucus)
Eastern Pine Snake, Pituophis m. melanoleucus

She was a huffy puffy monster when I first got her but calmed down after a month or so and now is as tame as any snake I've ever had. A subltly beautiful "cinnamon" phase. She's a shy feeder but takes well when she's on. She did go off for over 2 months once and I restarted her on live rats. Since then she's back on f/t and has been consistent.

Aug. 2008 - pre-acquisition (approx. 1 year old). In this pic she looks like a "high white" but when I got her she was much more ivory and has since morphed into a sort of rusty look.

pre-acquisition

Dec. 25th 2008 - about 1 1/2 years old.

Sep. 10th, 2009  - out for a little romp in the grass. She is very calm and deliberate when set out like this, patiently "sniffing" blades of grass and testing the ground for loose soil. When I go to pick her back up she just wraps around my neck and goes along for the ride.

Nov. 10th 2009 - She was loose in the room and wound up in this cigar box hide that was on a shelf...I couldn't believe she fit into it...100% snake inside!

Mar. 31st 2010 - She always poses nicely for photos. She's just over 5 1/2 feet and 1700 grams in this image.

Well, she wound up in a unplanned liason with Mr. Clean, a luecistic Southern Pine ...dang, not into hybrids but these might be really special. So, here she is with 10 big healthy looking eggs laid on 2010-10-24.
