Black Rat Snake (Pantherophis o. obsoletus)
I don't keep many wierd morphs but when I saw this form on Will Bird's website Extraordinary Ectotherms I was blown away. Will gave me a nice deal on this '08 male and threw in a het female (Pearl). Both are Jefferson Co. KY locale. The story on the "Calico Cow Suckers" from Will is: "The original calico cow sucker was discovered as a fresh hatchling by a young child in eastern Jefferson county near Wesport Road. The kids mother would not allow him to keep a snake, so one of my friends was able to get the snake. However, my friend is more of a book guy, so one day he needed money for an expensive book and I was able to buy the snake from him." Apr. 19th 2010

Jun. 28th, 2010 - He's putting on weight and growing quickly. Also calming down and becoming less shy, hence hanging out on perch.
