Lined Pine Snake (Pituophis lineaticollis)
Lined Pine Snake, Pituophis lineaticollis

Great feeder but called "Nippy" for a reason...very nervous and jumpy and doesn't hesitate to bite. I've been letting her bite me on purpose to see if she'll realize it's futile (of course she won't guess that at 6-7 feet it'll be pretty intimidating).

She did regurge once out of the blue at about 6-7 months but has since got back on track although she sure seems to be growing slowly for such a large species. Maybe she won't get really big?

Jan. 1st, 2010 - She's pretty dark here and but is already lightening up. The really light "nose" is odd but that is starting to fill in with color.

This pic is from Apr. 22nd 2010 - notice how she's turning more golden and the light nose is filling in with color.

May 11th, 2010 - Just shed here but not looking any lighter than the pic above, but that's probably cause in that pic she's more puffy and exposing more of the lighter, interstitial skin. Calmed down nicely after the first bite:)

Jun. 17th, 2010 - She was relatively calm today - hoping for the best:)
